We will be running a programme of events in 2007 allowing you to meet with experts in alternative therapies. Watch this section for the 2007 programme of events.

Bowen Therapy: Bowen is a non-invasive holistic therapy consisting of a series of gentle moves over muscles and soft tissue, interspersed with periods of rest. The therapist uses thumbs and fingers on precise points with rolling type movements which stimulate energy into the muscles and soft tissue.

Food Sensitivity testing: Using Kinesiology techniques, a wide range of foodstuffs and other environmental factors can be tested to identify the items that are causing irritation to our body. This vital testing can help wellbeing by eliminating from the diet those items that are short of an allergy but which are causing ongoing reactions.

Indian Head Massage: This therapy is performed seated and includes massage of the scalp, face, neck, shoulders and upper arms. It can relieve pain, stress, insomnia and promote hair growth. Energy balancing completes this treatment and induces a sense of tranquillity.

Nutrition Advice: Our fully trained and qualified Nutritionist can arrange personal consultations to understand your individual diet and make recommendations on how this can be improved. She has already helped dozens of people since starting the practice at Vitality in 2005 and has recently been the “food brain” behind a recent book for healthy eating at University.

Shiatsu: A therapy that rebalances energy flows throughout the body, both for the maintenance of well being and to address imbalances. The therapist uses the power of touch and pressure to mobilise the body’s own self-healing powers.

Sports Massage: The therapist uses specialist knowledge to adapt massage techniques to deal with both minor and more serious sports injuries. The exact treatment is geared to the individual.

Thai massage: This wonderful relaxing massage is an ancient form of massage is carried out on a fully clothed patient. The therapist uses feet, elbows and knees in a combination of pressure point work and stretches allowing “Sen” or meridian lines to increase energy flow and remove blockages.
